Seed Garlic and Sweet Potatoes

Enjoy the finest; this squash has been grown with love on healthy soil. We do not use any chemical fertilizers or pesticides anywhere on our farms. At the moment there is over 12,000 lbs of winter squash here. Even for a stand like ours that moves a lot of good food into local kitchens- this feels like an awful lot of squash. The goal is to find good homes for at least 75% of this before Thanksgiving.

It is time to plant garlic for next year starting in about 2 weeks from now. ( We like to have our garlic planted around October 15-25th. Garlic is a wonderful crop in that it is easy to continue to grow for many years without buying any seed garlic after you have a start. If you need seed garlic ( or for your table) we have a few hundred pounds available yet at $7 per lb for smaller amounts and $5.75 per lb for 10 lbs or more.

This evening (before dark) we went up and picked about 50 lbs of nice green and yellow beans. There are still at lot left yet to pick. I hope we miss frost tonight. We are about half finished with the sweet potato harvest. The crop is normal good so we should have a few thousand lbs when we are finished. As normal there is some tiny little sweet potato gems mixed in that do not store well but they are really good fresh and they can well. If you can use any of these they are priced at bargain prices. Daniel
