We dug this load of beautiful potatoes yesterday ahead of the rain.  Today we are washing them.

Dear Customer:
Below is a fresh product list from Martins Farmstand. The stand is still full of lots of good food. We have some of the finest no- spray produce in this area. I think that food grown and prepared with love is better.

Winter hours- I am sure lots of you are wondering.  Normal summer hours continue till Wednesday, November 27     ( the day before Thanksgiving.) We will be open during the early winter on Thursday, Friday and Saturdays from Noon to 6 PM. This runs from the week after Thanksgiving till the weekend before Christmas. From New year till spring service and hours are informal. When the asparagus gets ready in early May normal summer hours resume.

It is garlic planting time.  Yesterday we finished planting over 200 lbs of garlic seed. We mostly grow hard-neck garlic but I am planting some soft neck garlic this year also. If it takes the winter it should peel better mechanically and store longer into the winter- spring season. There is still about 500 lbs to sell yet from this years crop. Can I sell some to you either to plant or for your table? If you are thinking to plant garlic anytime between now and freeze up is OK. I judge that sooner is better than later though as there is more chance of decent weather to work in.

I dug the first few beds of potatoes in the late potato field. These rows yielded over 1200 lbs per row!  There are more potatoes than we ever had before as a result from both a bigger patch and a better yield than has been in the recent past.  We have a very interesting mix of both the normal red, white and yellow potatoes along with various specialty potatoes. (blue, pink inside, red with yellow flesh, fingerling etc. The goal is to dig the rest of the potatoes by the end of next week. Daniel
